Food is often the last thing on the minds of individuals and families coping with illness or disability. People caring for an infirm family member can be too preoccupied to pay proper attention to eating and food preparation.
Ezer Mizion's Food Distribution Service is a huge, Israel-wide operation that provides hot meals, sandwiches and refreshments to these families, giving them the energy and physical stamina to continue caring for their loved ones. Along with the nutritious and satisfying food, Ezer Mizion volunteers also bring emotional nourishment in the form of smiles, words of encouragement, and a listening ear.
The Food Distribution Service prepares and delivers over half a million meals each year. These meals are distributed to family members staying with hospitalized patients, to families with a sick or disabled parent, to victims of terror and their families, and to the sick, the elderly and the homebound.
