Omer Adam is currently the most popular vocalist and recording artist in Israel, whose work combines the melodies and modes of the Middle Eastern-Oriental Mizrahi style with Western pop instrumentation and rhythms.
Omer Adam has quickly become a singing sensation, and his songs repeatedly soar to the top of the charts while his concerts sell out in minutes.
Ezer Mizion is so excited to be listed as a benefitting organization to Omer Adam’s Toronto concert, this March 26 th , 2020. With each ticket purchased, a portion will go towards building our Bone Marrow registry, so you can enjoy an exciting night of music while supporting a life-saving organization.
Established in 1998, Ezer Mizion’s International Bone Marrow Registry is the Largest Jewish Registry in the World. The Registry’s aim is to save lives by matching the DNA of a donor to a recipient and perform a life saving bone marrow transplant for the patient. For many patients, a bone marrow transplant is their only chance of survival. Less than 30% of these patients manage to locate a related donor within their immediate family circle. The rest of these patients must find a matching unrelated donor in the bone marrow donor registries around the world. The Jewish people, as a unique ethnic group, are an underrepresented minority within the international bone marrow donor databanks. This unfortunate fact has caused extreme anguish for Jewish families who could not locate an unrelated donor for their loved one in the International Donor Pool, resulting sadly in the death of the patient.
Ezer Mizion’s current goal is to expand its Bone Marrow Donor Registry from its almost 1 Million DNA samples, allowing each request to be met in a timely manner before the patient’s condition deteriorates and a transplant is no longer feasible.
To further this goal, in 2005 Ezer Mizion partnered with the IDF enabling new recruits to join the Registry. Their relative youth, good health and varied ethnicities have greatly enhanced the chances of finding a match. But even the largest Registry is not large enough. Jewish families around the globe are waiting in hope and prayer. Genetic testing is costly. Your support will help save lives!
Enjoy the concert and feel good in knowing that you have supported a world-wide, life-saving organization.
