RIP Nana - We Love You

For 14 years, Nana the Bernese Mountain Dog was part of Ezer Mizion’s Wildlife Pavilion. She wasn’t just a dog – she was a friend, a healer, and a source of comfort for hundreds of children battling cancer. The children still miss her every day.

At their request, we’ve welcomed Balu, a new Bernese puppy, to follow in Nana’s pawprints. Balu is ready for his training to bring joy and hope to kids facing illness.

A therapy dog offers far more than cuddles. For a child battling cancer, every day can feel filled with fear, pain, and uncertainty. The presence of a gentle, loving dog lowers anxiety, eases loneliness, and creates a safe space where children can simply be kids again. Research shows that interacting with therapy dogs can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and even improve focus and communication. For our young patients, Balu’s wagging tail and steady companionship become a source of strength, comfort, and hope — often making the hardest days just a little easier to face.

We need $40,000 to cover Balu’s first year of training and care.
