Families Battling Cancer
Ezer Mizion coordinates summer camps for children and parents with cancer, together with their families. The program involves exciting activities, trips, fun and entertainment, all under top level medical supervision. Their Stories

Lia lost her brother suddenly last year. Since then, she barely speaks. At camp, she met a friend who just sat beside her and she smiled again.

Rivka was evacuated from her home during the war. She still keeps a flashlight by her bed. At camp, her flashlight was used to make shadow puppets, not to search for safety.

Tzuf saw too much, too young. His drawings are dark and quiet. Camp gave him paint, laughter, and space to color outside the lines again.

Noya holds her teddy bear like it’s armor. At camp, she tucked it under her pillow and went out to dance — something she hadn’t done since her world turned upside down.

Yuval hasn’t slept through the night in over a year. Pain wakes him, fear keeps him up. A week at camp could give him the deep rest only joy and safety can bring.

Tamar lost all her hair, and then her smile. She won’t go outside anymore. But at camp, surrounded by kids just like her, she could feel beautiful again — and brave.

Omer used to be the loudest kid in class. Cancer made him quiet. But camp is where he might find his voice again — singing in the talent show, cheering on his team.

Shai finished his last treatment just before summer. He wants to feel normal again — not like the boy everyone pities. At camp, he’ll be just another kid — chasing balls, making s’mores, staying up past bedtime.
